EVENT DESCRIPTION

The Niklas Group Tour de Bowness is a three-race omnium event:

Saturday July 30th -         Road Race at the Weedon Hall (outside of Cochrane)
Sunday July 31st -            Hill Climb (Canada Olympic Park)
Monday August 1st –         Provincial Criterium Championship (Bowness)

CATEGORIES

Riders will compete in one of the following categories, as indicated on their ABA license:

  • Youth (U17 and U15)
  • Women A and B (race together, scored separately)
  • Cat 1 and 2
  • Cat 3
  • Cat 4
  • Cat 5

ENTRY / REGISTRATION

Online registration will be available at Zone4.  Last Day of Registration:Jul28,2011 23:59PST

No Race Day registration.

The price for registration is $80.00.

Youth pricing is $50.00.

Riders may enter any combination of the three events.

* All riders must have a valid UCI road license. *

REGISTRATION/SIGN ON

All riders must sign on and present their ABA/UCI License for each event

  • Road Race Sign On (Saturday July 30):Begins at 8:30am and ends 15 minutes prior to your race at Weedon Pioneer Hall. Sign the start listat this time
  • Hill Climb Sign On(Sunday, July 31)License check and COP Waiver begins at 3:30 in the Festival Tent at COP.  Be sure you’ve signed on at least 15 minutes prior to your start time.
    • Present yourself/bike at the start at least 10-15 minutes prior to your race for bike weighing. Check your times carefully!!
  • Criterium(Monday ,August 1) Please sign-on at least 15 minutes before your race starts.

PRIZES

To qualify, participants must start all races.

  • The following cash prizes will be awarded for the Omnium.  Prize values may change depending on the number of entrants.  Medals will be awarded to Youth Men/Women in Criterium and Race races. Youth will be prized out.

Omnium points will be awarded as shown below. Any ties will be broken by using total time calculation.

AWARDS

Podium presentations for the top-5 riders in each category will be made following each event. The Omnium podium presentations will be made after the Criterium presentations on Monday August 1st. Aside from primes, all money prizes will be mailed (cheques) to the respective winners. Awards will be handed out as soon as possible after the Criterium.

RACER FOOD

A ticket for a post criterium meal provided by Salt & Pepper Restaurant will be inside the gift bag from Bow Cycle.
